How the cars are controlled

Here we have a selection of controllers from the past. All are single resistor units, which is fine as far as controlling Scalextric type slot cars is concerned but no good when you have several cars all requiring different resistances to get the best from them. To compensate for this it was neccesary to have as many as six controllers to cope with all situations. Not good.

Modern Controllers

The rest of the photos are of the modern type of controller which gives you total control from one unit. With these controllers you can dial in 'power' 'brakes' ' choke' etc............ all of which sets up the car in such a way as to allow maximum performance while enhancing 'drivability'
